Lesson Learned!
« on: January 15, 2013, 10:03:32 PM »
Learned a valuable lesson today, READ THE LABEL!  Ate a package of jerky today and when I was finished found out there was 6 grams of carbs per serving!  Won't tell you how many servings were in the package, just too embarrassing.  Next time I'll read the label before sticking something in my pie hole.

Well Siltz, I can assure you - you are not the only one who has done something like that.  We  live and learn. ;)

Been there....done that one  Haha   No big deal...just move on  ;)

I just want to add, always remember to read those labels even for things you buy all the time.  Companies change them all the time.  For example what you are sure always is a 0 carb will all of a sudden become 1 or 2 carbs per serving.  It's frustrating to say the least  :-\

Just make it a habit to read labels, weigh and measure your food and write down everything that passes your lips.  It becomes second nature after a while  ;)

Hi, Siltz! :)

Like TooSweet, I too have been there and done that.
And her advice on the matter is sound... "No big deal...just move on!" :) :) :)

Making mistakes comes with life and learning.
If we never made a mistake, how would we know how we're doing? ::)

Even foods that you have eaten for a while you'll find that can happen with. I am a huge fan of the Davidson's preshelled sunflower seeds. I have been eating them off and on for months. The whole little bag has 3.5 carbs. They repackaged the bag and low and behold, the new label says it's now EIGHT carbs. Well they taste good but not 8 carbs worth good. So yes, always read those labels!

When it comes to nutrition labels, assume nothing!

They can change at any time.
That's why I ALWAYS read them BEFORE buying ANYTHING prepackaged.
