What if your favorite food right now?
« on: June 13, 2010, 03:35:12 PM »
Since I changed my way of eating a few months ago I have found I crave different foods almost weekly. Two weeks ago I was hooked on roast beef, I was putting it in omeletes and anyway else I could find to eat it. Now I am hooked on boiled eggs sliced in my salad. I just can't get enough. I was wondering if everyone else is doing this too and if so what is your favorite of the week?

OK.... As you guys know I just went to Long Beach CA for the CNN interview. When I was there I went to a fabulous Brazilian Steak House. If you've never been to one it's quite an experience. You pay a flat fee...in this case $25.00 for your entire meal. They have an extensive salad/side/food bar to choose all the sides... then the magic happens. They serve no less than 15 different kinds of meats which are brought around by waitstaff on skewers. They carve off servings at the table onto your plate if wish to eat that particular skewer.....so what did I eat;

SIDES- hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, feta cheese with Greek olives rolled in grape leaves soaked with virgin olive oil, shrimp and Chayote squash curry coconut soup.

MEATS- quail, lamb, turkey wrapped in bacon, sausage, flank steak, rib eye and elk

So....what is my favorite food right now? Not sure but I'll tell you what... tonight I'm going to enjoy the heck out of Italian Sausage Catchatori on top of Shirataki noodles and Umpa's home made Angel food cake with Coconut-Bananna ice cream for dessert :)

I'm booking the next flight to Long Beach!!!
That sounds fabulous!!! :D

So I posted yesterday asking for snack ideas and Doug sent back some ideas...

My daughter made deviled eggs this evening and I cannot tell you how good they tasted!! Even better when you aren't "cheating" by eating them!

I LOVE the Egg Fu Yung Recipe from the book - my whole family is hooked!!  For the first week I was hooked on deli turkey right out of the bag....
I am trying to add variety....

Sandy  ;)

  I would have to say I have a thing for rotisserie chicken because it is so easy to make. It taste great with most veggies especially asparagus with olive oil and Parmesan with a dash of pepper. Also the price is right. Yes I'm mister cheapo. I can eat all week for around 12 dollars.

     Brazilian steak house's are popular around here. Last time I went I over did it. ::)  It's not hard to do.
And if I claim to be a wise man. It surely means that I don't know... Kansas
