 I became over weight rather quickly as a child due to a sickness and I have been trying to lose it every sense. My doctor recommended this book telling me not to be too hopeful because of the sickness I had as a teenager. Determined as I am to finally lose the weight I purchased the book and have changed my eating habits. I have lost 24 pounds, sense October of 2012. I still have 102 pounds left to lose to reach my goal and I tell everyone about my success as well as post it on my Facebook page every time I weigh myself. I never thought I would ever have these kinds of results and I am so glad Doug has shared this knowledge so that many of us can also reach our goals.

Welcome to the FTS family, hawks!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Congratulations on a fabulous start! ;D ;D ;D

I too, was fighting FAT for a VERY long time!

Before FTS, my health was deteriorating very rapidly.
It was not until I started living the FTS lifestyle, that I truly gained control over my weight and improved my health.

Now that you have the secret to winning the weight loss battle, it will only get better and better from here out! ;)

Hello Hawks, first my congratulations to you and to your doctor. You doctor took a step for you and you're running the race. Where is your doctor located? What kind of illness did you have as a child if you don't mind sharing?

To answer your question. My doctor is in Georgetown, Texas. I had and still have a disease of the ovaries. Back when I was fourteen they did not know too much about this. At the time I was very athletic and I Weighed 95 pounds. When this affected me I became very weak and bed ridden. My doctor at the time put me on some pills and in one month I went from 95 pounds to 160 pounds. Devastated at the significant weight gain I stopped eating. I do not know what this disease is called but it causes a weight gain as well as cysts on the ovary's.  My Doctor told me that many women have this but when they gain a large amount of weigh at the beginning of puberty they usually have a very difficult time losing it if they lose any at all. I am just so glade that after all these years of trying it is finally happening.

well Ive lost another 4 pounds it is so nice to get on the scale and see that you have lost a few more pounds. The only draw back to losing weight is Im going to have to go shopping soon because my pants are getting way too big. I dont have time to go shopping so I bought a belt instead hope I get some time to get me some new pants that actually fit. not that at this rate they will soon be too big as well. I am losing the weight at a slow rate which is what i wanted. but it is all worth it in the end I feel so much better already and cant wait until i have reached my goal and i realize that wont be for at least two years or more. But I am still very hopful and will continue to follow this meal plan. just wish there was more foods i could have that dont have to be cooked or refrigerated. sense I dont have the means for either of them due to the type of job that I have. I hate eating out all the time.

Hello Hawks..........BIG Congratulations on a great start. You can't bring a cooler with you to work? No microwave at work? How about left in the trunk of your car....Long haul truck drivers have demanded and have received many great 12 volt cooking products from manufactures. Here's a link to a really cool 12 volt grill ;

Hooray, Hawks!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Umpa mentioned ice chest...

Did you know that some of them can be powered on 12 volts DC from your car/truck?
That can be handy when your on the move for long periods and stop occasionally.
By adding gel ice packs, you can extend the cooling time, too. ;)

I am a truck driver and there is no room in my truck for a microwave i have a 12 volt cooler but it does not keep things cool for very long. things in it only last a couple of days in it. sense i am paperless now it has become even harder to stop by wal-marts and most of them do not allow us to park there over night any more. It is very discouraging. I used to plan when to stop for more grocery's and sense my company gave me a much smaller truck I don't have the room for too much now. I mostly have wraps but even they get tiring after a while. I stay out for months at a time so most of my food is in cans with the occasional fruit that i get a certain truck stops.

Well I guess you already know about all those 12 volt goodies designed for your industry  ::) I'd get sick of wraps everyday as well. I really need a cooked breakfast everyday which almost always involves eggs and meat. Then I don't usually eat till dinner. Once again I like a cooked dinner. If I was in your drivers seat I'd most likely stop each evening for a good meal at Flying J or equivalent and pick up my breakfast for the next morning. Hard boiled eggs, string cheese and beef jerky are all good road foods for me when I travel. Almonds and sunflower seeds are usually in my truck as well. Keep a roll of heavy duty aluminum foil in the truck and you can re-heat just about anything under the hood. Years ago I slow cooked a rack of baby back ribs on top of my truck manifold during an 8 hour trip from Tampa to the Florida Keys  8)
