Hi Stephanie -- well if you drive a school bus in my opinion you have to be a SAINT!
I agree with you -- I can't stand people pushing food on me either. I've learned the hard way that if I start trying to explain to them why I can't eat the food they're offering that for some reason that doesn't help me. I have some food pushers at work, and the worst ones are two gals who say they are on low carb. They offer me bread, soup with stuff in it I can't have, they offer their home made ricotta etc....one of them will even say to me "WE" can have that on low carb" meaning.....us three low carbers....so I've learned to say, "No thank you," politely, and with the nice voice.....then the second time I say "no thank you" with a little firmer voice, and then the third time they get the "no thank you" voice that keeps them from offering a fourth time.
I so agree with you that being a people please gets old. Because I'm "nice" and "sweet" with people, sometimes they just try to take advantage of that. And I so agree with whoever above said (maybe it was toosweet) that misery loves company or sometimes people are just jealous that you are in control of a problem that really is a monkey on their own back.
About the MIL with the lapband....so many people where I work had the
weight loss surgery years ago, and one by one, they came to me telling me how I should have it too, and brought paperwork for me to read, and so many of them have gained it all back because they did not change their eating habits.....I'm thinking if your MIL is eating bad stuff and then throwing up, she's feeling scared because she knows that is so unhealthy, and she probably feels out of control......and I'm thinking that may somewhat behind what she is doing, but it's so good you're not giving in....I have given in before way too many times, then it gets me off track and sometimes it was months and years before I could even get up the nerve to work on
weight loss again.
This time it's for US!!!! We are STRONG mighty FTS women!!
Also, if you're living with your MIL.....you're REALLY a saint in my book! hahahaha
hang in there gal and keep posting...vent vent vent!! we're here for you!
