Thanks for warm welcome!

How fast will this phase last? :(

Hi, jbb85! :)

Sugar detox typically lasts 10 to 14 days.
For some, a bit less. For others, a bit more.

The important thing to remember is that it's VERY temporary.
And when you get past it, you'll feel like a new human being! ;D ;D ;D

I'm new to the FTS lifestyle & I have a way to go to reach my fitness and health goals.  So hear I am day 1, and I've already read the FTS expanded version book, with CD...its wonderful.  I think that I'm ready now to get these 115 pounds off.  I wish everyone with their plans & goals of cutting out sugar from their lives!   :D
Wishing you love, joy, peace, light, and laughter for every moment in your life;)

I've welcomed you on another topic, but hello again.  If you have an iPod put the fts cd on it.  I listen to doug on long drives (or to and from work), it just constantly reinforces what you need know. He has a soothing voice   ;)

I've been without sugar and things like aspertame for several weeks.  This past weekend, I really wanted a Diet Coke.  I cannot tell you how SWEET it was...too sweet.  I didn't drink it.  I just wanted something other than water.

I guess I might as well have chocolate for breakfast if cereal has the same effect on my body. All joking aside, this new info is pretty upsetting since my alternative to cereal is always fruit, which (once again) has the same dang effect as sweets. It's even worse to think about how much pasta my family eats. I'm now imagining us stuffing our faces with plates of candy. Yuck. I'm only 16, so I don't have that much of a say when it comes to what foods are in the house (it's not my money paying for the groceries after all). That's not to say that my parents don't try. Is there anything I could say to help point them in a healthier direction when it comes to buying food?

Hello again cat - have you got the fts book?  If so maybe you can get your mum/dad/family to have a read.  Alternatively maybe you can get you parents to give you part of the grocery money so you can buy the foods you need.
Tell them that you would like to try this way of eating - you had better back it up by saying you will do your shopping and preparation yourself.  Take it from there and see what happens.  Good luck - most parents want their kids to be healthy and happy.

I agree with Morgan.  Let your parents have a look at the Fat To Skinny book.  You can also show them this video Doug made http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=56.30

Hi, catmedaglia! :)

I agree with TooSweet and Morgan.
Have your parents read the book.

After reading the book, if they give you any resistance,
ask them if you could try FTS for 30 days just to see what happens.

Read about my FTS experience.  And share this with your parents;

If you commit 100% to the FTS lifestyle for 30 days, you WILL see results!
