You are correct. But I think its how you raise your kids.I was taught to help others and be kind.Bullying was never allowed being from a military family.I see the bullying now ,kids committing suicide and I say where are the parents and teachers??Why is this allowed?

In this era, we see "absentee" parenting due to our culture and the relentless attack on the family.
That is why this is allowed.
The family unit is the foundation of any culture.
And without a good foundation, any structure will have major problems.

What the parents feed their children's minds, sooner or later comes back as attitudes and behaviors.
Children raised well are much less likely to exhibit poor choices.
They're taught which way to go (and not go) in various real life situations.

If the children are not given good compasses at home, with very few exceptions, they're likely not to get them at school either.
What you do today is what matters!

That's true too, Umpa.

There will always be the "daredevil" personality types.
Those kids simply need closer supervision than others.

My oldest son was that way when he was growing up.
But living through the divorce of his mother and me was difficult for him and no doubt contributed.
What you do today is what matters!

I think statue of limitations run out on  blaming your parents when you are 21.Whatever you do after that you only have yourself to blame ;)

18 is the demarcation line between being a minor and an adult.
At 21, you're now old enough to legally buy booze and, therefore you're on your own! :)

When my kids turned 18, I told them that 18 only got them 2 things:  the right to vote and adult sentences if they got into trouble with the law.

I have 5 daughters.  Two of them followed a traditional path:  college in 4 years, careers, marriage, kids.  The other three took longer to accept adulthood.  I think we parent to the best of our ability and agree that eventually we all need to embrace our pasts and move on.

What a nice idea for a show! OF course, nobody is screaming or waking up at 4am to work out for 8 hours straight. The major networks would probably say there's not enough "drama" in it (or blood for that matter). Of course, you're not helping them sell high carb garbage either during commercial break.

Have you ever considered doing a PBS special?

While I was a responsible kid, I had an extend adolescence myself. I'm a GEN X-ER and I think it's just indicative of our generation. Andrea, I SO AGREE with the idea of embracin the past and moving on. That's what I'm doing right now!

So maybe the reality show needs to have a detective show format.  The FTS unit can investigate and find all the hidden sugar.

A kids' cartoon.  I'm liking this idea a lot.

Apple juice, a pediatric dentist's nightmare.

How about a hero YORKIE sniffing out the hidden sugah in children's houses. The more I live FTS, the more I see carbs everywhere. My friends are becoming aware of it, too, especially now that they're eating with me.
