Giving up......the scale!
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:56:31 AM »
It is extremely frustrating to watch (and be disappointed) in the scale. This time I am setting my goal as the plus and minus of consistently following the FTS game plan. When I eat a meal consistent with the plan, it's minus one. If I slip and eat "sugar" it's plus one. I'll let my clothes dictate how the plan is working.

Welcome to the family buckster13 :) The scale can certainly be evil  :o Our rules are really simple.... watch portion control and stay under 20 net carbs per day and you will lose weight.

Hi, buckster13! :)

I TOTALLY agree with Doug and Umpa!
The scale can be VERY misleading and our measurements are FAR more reliable.

It's easier to step on a scale than to take measurements.
But if we find the scale is derailing us, then it's best to ditch it.

The science behind FTS is as rock solid as the law of gravity.
Follow what Doug told you, and you will get much healthier AND smaller too! ;)

Hi buckster13 - best advice - skip the scale - don't even think of it.  Instead think "HEALTHY" because that is what fts will make you.  I'm sure you are going to do well  ;)

Skip the scale!!! What are you after for??? A number? I don't think so. You're after a nice view in the mirror.
Really, skip the scale. There's too many factors that can affect your CURRENT weight.
Make use of the BMR calculator to calculate your basal metabolic rate and see if you are above or below required caloric intake. http://healthiack.com/bmr-calculator

I've been lifting weights and have gained muscles and my scale is more inaccurate than ever now than before. Lol I just use my scale as a symbol once a week to remind myself about my fts lifestyle.
