Thanks for the information. Where can I buy the GG Bran Crispbread? I haven't found them. I like spinach but the only way I have cooked it is boiling it. How do you cream the spinach. I to believe in natural stuff. I am 60 years old and only take a low dosage of high blood pressure medicine. Do you have any recipes for the foods you listed. I am brand new to this and I am still trying to get it all figured out.

Also I have been seeing some things on a high fat, low carb diet is there anything to this? I'm wanting to learn everything I can about all of this.

 All help is greatly appreciated.

Hi pamsway - actually I find when I up my fat intake everything just slides out, so to speak.  Also xylitol (sugar substitute) has a tendancy to move the bowel along.  Having a flaxseed OMM (one minute muffin) is almost all fibre so that is an option also.  I'm sure you will sort something out  :)

Per above - the OMM would be an excellent addition.  I add sunflower seeds to mine and cook it so that it is square shaped.  Cut it in 1/2 and then toast it in the toaster.  Very yummy with butter.

CELERY ~ Eat it raw ~ I like it with peanut butter or in salads.  You can also eat it with any dip or stuffed with a multitude of different fillings.

CREAMED SPINACH ~ There are tons of online recipes but this is how I like it:

 1/4 cup butter
 2 tablespoons onion, minced
20 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed  & liquid drained off (squeeze if needed)
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
 1/8 teaspoon pepper
 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
 Dash cayenne
1/4 - 1/2 cup parmesean cheese
 1/2 cup heavy cream
Saute the onion in the butter, add the spinach and cook til done.  Add everything else & simmer a bit til it thickens up.  YUMMY!

Hi, Pam! :)

The answer... WATER, WATER, and more WATER!
Fiber works best when we drink lots and lots of water throughout the day.
That way, it does not have to rob natural moisture from the foods we eat.

I drink between 80-128 ounces a day.
But I did not always do this... There was a time I drank almost no water.
Doing that, I was in a perpetual state of mild dehydration.
Among other problems, it eventually led to serious kidney stone problems.

So drink lots of water everyday!

on the response of water, water, water, does it have to be plain water or can I drink unsweet tea. I like drink unsweet tea most of the time, alto I do drink plain water to. On most days I drink about 64 oz or more of water, that includes unsweet tea. Your thoughts please.

I experienced constipation also when having withdrawals when I started the lifestyle because of my body changing from burning carbs to burning fats and making use of the fats better. I realized that eating some prunes helped me while still watching how much carbs they contained and now I don't have that problem as your body becomes used to it.

Hi, Pam! :)

Plain water does not equal tea or any other beverage.
Water is the only beverage that the body does not process before using.

Water has two primary purposes;

1) To hydrate our cells, bowels, etc..
2) To flush out toxins and wastes from or bodies (even our cells).

During weight loss, our bodies' cells generate more waste.
Water removes those wastes and promotes weight loss progress.

If you drink 64 oz. or more of plain water everyday, you'll do much to help your progress.
But, in addition to the water, having some tea is fine.

Mark mentioned using prunes to help with regularity.
They work well if the bowels have sufficient moisture.
But they're VERY high in net carbs (2.5 per prune) from fruit sugar (fructose)! :o

thanks for the info Tony, I will start drinking a lot more water. I do manage to get in 64 or more oz of liquid, not all water. I will change that. I am not a fan of prunes at all.

Today I am experiencing diarrhea tho, could be from the pancakes and syrup I had for breakfast this morning. I made the pancakes with  3 oz cream cheese,2 packets of stevia, and 2 tbls heavy whipping cream. I ate 3 medium size pancakes and the syrup was sugar free. I know I used more of it than I should have, but a measurement, well I don't know and lots of land O Lakes butter. I also had 2 pieces of bacon. What do ya think? Remember I am still learning this new way of eating.  :)
