NUt bread

Sending a recipe for nut bread . Can you tell me how many carbs, and calories per thin slice?

Nut Bread

In a bowl add
1 c. sunflower seeds
1/2 c flax seeds
1/2 c almonds
1 1/2 c rolled oats
2 TBs chia seeds
3 TBs psyllium husk powder
1 tsp salt
In small bowl add
1 TBS honey
3 TBS coconut oil melted
1 1/2 c water
Mix dry ingredient
Wisk liquid ingredients, add to dry ingredients.
Pour into loaf pan - let sit for 2 to 12 hr in refrig.
Bake at 350 - 20 mins in pan. After twenty mins, remove from pan and place upside down on oven rake - bake another 20 mins - should sound hollow.

Welcome to the forum marilyns! Yes I can too many! Have you read the book?Rolled Oats are 14 carbs per 1/4 cup so it is 84 carbs just for the oats.Honey is 17 per tablespoon so now we are at 101 and we havent added the other ingredients,too high.There are some beautiful bread recipes here on the homepage and in the fat to skinny bakery book ;) If I can help you please ask

Welcome to the FTS family, marilyns!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

I agree with Umpa!... The bakery book is LOADED with great bread recipes! ;D

But for this recipe, if you substitute oat fiber for the rolled oats, and sweetener (e.g. 4 drops FTS Zero) for the honey, it might work.
I would experiment with it making 1/2 or 1/4 batches to see how it works out.

Just be sure to count all the carbs in the recipe.
That will help you determine how large your servings should be.
Normally, a serving should have a maximum of 4 and 6 net carbs.
Any more than that really bites into the 20 net carb a day allowance.
