Sugar Symptoms
« on: January 19, 2014, 06:30:21 PM »
I know we often talk about sugar detox - the aches and pains, flu-like symptoms, etc, but lately I have found when I have indulged in the sweet poison we know as sugar that I start to ache, feel bloated and my anxiety cranks up.  My joints hurt and it's hard to move.  Yet when I give it up, the aches are at a minimum (for my age - haha) and I feel fine, anxiety down, no need for mylanta tablets and of course more energy.

Could sugar cause inflammation of our joints?

This is why this way of eating is good for me.  Even so, knowing all this I still fall of the wagon occasionally. It's just another reason why I do my best to commit to fts.

Does anyone else suffer these symptoms when 'off the wagon' and on the 'sugar'?

Hi, Morgan! :)

Oh, yes!... Sugar (carbs) is an inflammatory agent.
It is a toxic irritant to our bodies (arteries, joints, cells, etc.).

If we think of sugar like poison, it makes perfect sense.
Many poisons will act on our bodies like sugar does.
The degree is based on the amount ingested (eaten).

This is why I avoid the poison, sugar, as much as possible.
I don't like feeling sick or my joints to ache (much more than they should).

Not only just the actual sugar but the foods we shy away from because they turn to sugar in our bodies.  They are all inflammatory foods.  The FTS lifestyle hasn't cured my arthritis but it sure has made a huge difference   8)

I crash hard if my carb intake gets too high. My energy goes through the roof and then I need a nap! :D

If I get too many carbs, I get an energy (sugar) rush.

But when I "crash" from them, my back bothers me and I feel like going to sleep.
That's why I avoid them however I can.
