Bulletproof Coffee
« on: March 10, 2014, 12:15:04 PM »
So I have stuck with my low carb, high fat lifestyle. One of the things that I added is what is called a bulletproof coffee.

I have found that it really does curve the appetite and its actually yummy.. Anyone here try it yet..

Hi, Alex! :)

Although the Today website cautions about weight gain and no increase in energy,
they are looking at it from a "calories cause fat"  perspective.

We know, that perspective has caused more weight loss failures than ANY other.
As many here have found, when I increase fat over protein intake,
my weight loss progress improves.
And my energy levels have not been higher for over 30 years! ;D

I enjoy my coffee black.
But I might try this for an early afternoon "pick me up".

Since this coffee fits in well with the FTS lifestyle, I will add it to mine.

Thanks for sharing, Alex! ;)

I'm increasing my fat by adding heavy cream to my coffee and tea. I don't care for butter in my coffee. I do like coconut oil in it.

Ive tried both.. I only do it on the weekends when  I can whip it in the blender.. Maybe I just like butter too much. I only use "good fats" too.. I really do get a burts of energy but hey, it is coffee.  :P ::)

Honestly, I haven't heard that before either try it. I'm satisfied in black coffee and I prefer to be always that.

I've used unsalted butter. I used a drink blender and added 1 TB each of unsalted butter, coconut oil & cream. I think it needs another flavor like chocolate & peppermint or cinnamon.

Hi, Stephanie! :)

Many recipes (especially desserts) call for unsalted butter to avoid adding a salty flavor.
If you don't put salt in your coffee now, I should suggest sticking with unsalted butter. ;)

Oh I remember that Umpa. I'm drinking Yerba Mate tea with peppermint oil & zero Sweet/Stevia combo I made... yum!!!

I'm increasing my green veggie intake and putting 2 tbsp cream in my coffee, drinking 2-3 cups. I make a dressing with organic balsamic vinegar & Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive oil.

I am so much more "regular" eating this way. I also lost a lb I gained from pigging out in nuts. Target had unsalted  raw nuts so cheap in large quantities, but they were too good. Now I just buy 1.5 oz pkgs raw nuts at Walgreens for 99¢ each.
