Chicken In Mushroom Sauce

Chicken In Mushroom Sauce

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup water

Mushroom Sauce:
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 can mushrooms; undrained, finely chopped
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 ounces cream cheese, sliced

Brown the chicken in the butter. Add the water, cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.

Remove chicken, stir in the remaining ingredients. Cook and stir until cream cheese is melted and the sauce is thickened. Return the chicken to the pan.
