« on: June 21, 2010, 02:51:42 PM »
:-\  i have yet to find carb free chicken... it usually has 1-2 carbs per serving & prepackaged shredded cheese also has 1 or <1 carb per serving, yet block cheeses have 0 carbs, why is that? so beware if you're eating alot of chicken/shredded cheese?? i know beebs!!! I've started shredding my own cheese!!!

Katary when I get info that doesn't make sense I go straight to the manufacturer and ask for a ingredient list.My chicken breast says zero, but I do know some brands add fillers and preservatives which may contain sugar/carbs. All we have are the labels to go by but if that doen't make sense go to the manfacturer. At my deli i request the labels to look at before I buy my meat .I stay at the 0-1 carb range on meats and cheese. Ham is the hardest for me to buy because of all the sugar they pump into it.If you don't get any answers when you contact the manufacturers post the info and i will contact them i always seem to get answers.Maybe its just how I ask questions! I really am proud of you on your weight loss and how active you are on the Forum. You give solid answers and I like that.

Thanks, Gary. I think I have all the stuff for it, but I'm such a visual person, it helps me to see it all written out. I've been copying and pasting recipes into word documents and I have a folder on my desktop with them all in it. I just take my laptop into the kitchen with me when I want to make something.

ok....here it is:  3 tbsp dried egg whites
                       1/2 cup warm h2o
                       1 teaspoon vanilla(i used vanilla/butternut)
                       1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup powdered sugar ( use sweetener of your
                        choice)

preheat oven to 225-line cookie sheet w/parchment paper-add egg whites to h2o and break up w/fork let stand for 2 minutes-beat on medium until mixture is frothy-add vanilla & cream of tartar, increase speed to high and gradually add sweetner until stiff peaks form-spoon dollops of mixture onto cookie sheet & bake for 2 hours until firm and crisp- let cool in oven w/door open>>> TADA:)
