« on: March 18, 2014, 07:51:26 PM »
Has anyone tried these?  I found the recipe on FreckledItalian.com and they looked amazing!  If anyone has any tips, I'm all ears!

I think I would use a avocado that is not totally ripe so they dont turn to mush ;)

I made these today slides the avocado in 6 wedges wrapped with bacon and stuck toothpick in them ! They were delicious  and filling I had made two fried eggs to go with them and I was so filled I didn't eat the eggs !

One tip half way through I took toothpicks out so that I could fry even on each side 😊 enjoy
One question though since I am not too familiar with avocado what is consider small ? For two bet carbs ? I don't know how to judge it

Hi, Steph! :)

I found broiling them on a rack over a shallow pan works great and only takes 10-12 minutes.
As always, preheat the broiler about 3 minutes.
Be sure to turn them over half way, and watch them closely to not burn.

The size of a medium avocado is slightly larger than an elongated baseball.
An average sized California (or Haas) avocado has 3 net carbs.
The Florida variety have about 7 net carbs.
