So true Morgan. I'm happy with the menu they have. Mary & I eat small meals and snacks. This weekend we will only have 3 meals a day, no snacks, so I told her to eat big meals to sustain her.

Back from trip and I went roller skating yesterday.
Okay, I admit I over did it physically this weekend, but survived, lol.
The head cook was amazing, she bent over backwards to accommodate us. She cooked us vegetables in oil, and made delicious chicken thigh in chilies and sauce with no wheat or sugar added. The only problem I had was that I had to hike up a long hill at each meal to get the food I brought. Fell asleep in my cabin Saturday while the lights were on & all my cabin mates chatting to each other. I was so ready to leave that I woke up at 6, rolled up my sleeping bag, packed up all my stuff and put it in my car. All while everyone in my cabin was still sound asleep, lol. Then I went to the dining hall and drank coffee.
I did enjoy it, learned so much on how to help girls empower themselves by helping others. Also learned some yoga techniques and ideas on how to get our girls to dress more appropriately.
I'd definitely go again, now that I'm wiser.... ;)

Because of my Occupational Therapy career experience, I knew just what to do to help it heal quick. Between heat packs, deep breathing & stretching techniques and lots of rest I healed much quicker than I thought & had no hip pain when I roller skated.
My main problem is balance. I am so scared when I first enter the rink, holding on to the side wall, then I take off & nervously skate around a couple times then take a break. I do stretches then got back on.  Another problem is that I don't realize how fatigued it gets me. One time I skated & skated so many times. My fear was gone & it felt great. Then when I drove home I could hardly think to drive. Luckily Mary was with me & helped me think. Now I make sure I don't skate too much.

Funny Umpa... we all discover that when we try a physical activity we have not done since we were young, lol.
