Coming home
« on: May 27, 2014, 04:01:15 PM »
Hi guys - I know, I've been gone for a very long time.  I can honestly say now that I am living proof of how well this way of life works.....  I stopped, I thought I'd be ok.  I was wrong wrong wrong.  I am now back up to where I started.  Sick, tired and no enjoyment in my life.  :(   I begin over today.  Excuses are like a**holes (pardon my French), everyone's got one.... I'm not going to make excuses, I'm going to move forward.  I got back on here yesterday and was thrilled to see so many people had made their goals!  Thank you all for being here always... I'm trying to not tear up right now - putting this into words is really hard for me to do.  I don't take failure from myself well.

Love to you all!
Jen

Welcome home, Jen!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Most of all of us here have slipped to some extent or other. I certainly have!
Life is a "slippery" place to be... It's what we do AFTER we slip that really matters.

By coming back to FTS and recommitting yourself, you have NOT failed!
You've slipped and learned something.
If you use what you've learned, you'll be that much stronger this time around.

BTW, very few people see the same results the 2nd, 3rd, or whatever time around compared to the first time.
We are healing damaged metabolisms from the way we used to eat.
Whenever we eat that way, a little more damage occurs... But it IS reversible!
You CAN reverse it!!!

So be patient with yourself, and rely on us for any support you need.
We are a family here, and do not want any members to struggle! :) :) :)

Tony

What you do today is what matters!

Thanks y'all! I've been doing pretty good so far, little headache for a couple days and a weeeee bit grouchy lol. But I woke up this morning in such a good mood and not exhausted! Tony, you're a rock star! Sherripie - you're my hero, I'm not sure I'd have made it as far last time if it hadn't been for your story. I read the book, and everything else, but in the back of my head I was thinking "but Doug is a dude... of course he lost weight no problem!" Lol. You are amazing - I told everyone about you and your before and after pics! It is super impressive!

Doug is a dude :) That made me smile Jen! Yes I am a dude and Sherri Pie is a chick. Yes it seems that men lose quicker than woman, why I'm not sure. Metabolism, hormones, menopause, time of the month etc.. all play a factor I'm sure. Stay the course girl :0

Add having a baby, and being a woman can truly suck. I think the main problem is hormones. Up, down, up down.  Men's bodies just seem so straight forward.  NOT FAIR!!!!!

Hey y'all!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!  Just wanted to update, my uncle ended up having a triple bypass on Thursday - he's doing well.  I've lost about 6.6lbs in the last 2 weeks.  It is a guesstimate - I didn't weigh myself when I started; I went off of the horror of the last weigh in I had done about a week prior  :o  I'm mostly noticing a difference in my energy level and mood at this point.

Hi, Jen! :)

I pleased to hear that your uncle is doing well. :) :) :)
Now if you can just convince him to join you with FTS, maybe he can avoid more heart surgeries.

Your progress is VERY good for coming back to FTS.
Usually the 2nd, 3rd, etc. time, things are tougher and progress slower.

That energy level is your body's way of thanking you for what you're doing... Keep it up! ;)

Tony
What you do today is what matters!

Thanks Tony! :) I'll take whatever comes with the weight loss; I know it'll slow down. I'm hoping to start working out too. I want to run/jog a zombie 5K the end of August. ;)

Hi Jen!  There's several of us who have "come home" over the past couple weeks!  I don't know why I was so embarrassed to say I had fallen off the wagon, because everyone here is always so supportive!  Sherripie is a rock star!  She has been such an encouragement to me.  It was so nice to come back and find the same folks still here, staying the course, and helping everyone else.   We can do this!.....(again.)   :)
