I'm back...
« on: May 28, 2014, 08:56:58 AM »
Guess who fell off the wagon. I had been doing so good then gradually I let myself slip here...then there and well, here I am. First I was like, that's okay..after a few years it's probably normal to gain a little weight back, I'll just be really good and lose it again. Then I would go out, eat something I shouldn't and the whole dialogue in my head would start again convincing myself it was okay.  So here I am...six months later and up TWO pant sizes. SO...I am back to where it all began. I refuse to gain all my weight back and I am going back to basics. I'm going to pop in here everyday and check in, add a weigh counter to the bottom of my posts and...STEP ON THE SCALE. I freaking hate that scale and haven't been on it for almost a year. But it's time for me to step up (literally) and be accountable for what I've done and that's just what I did this morning. I had no idea I had gained so much. So...I have FIFTY pounds to lose and I'm here to do it where all the support in the world is. I hope you guys welcome me back and go through this journey (again) with me.

Welcome home, SherriePie!!! :) :) :) :) :)
Of course, you are always welcome here! Your a member of our family!

When you told yourself; "... after a few years it's probably normal to gain a little weight back",
you gave your subconscious permission to get fat, through rationalization.
And every time you repeated that "instruction", your mind ingrained it deeper and your body followed it.
Before long... 50 pounds of excess fat showed up. :(

What we say to ourselves can help us succeed, or set us up to fall short.
That 50 pounds came on easily due to bad programming.
It can come off again almost as easily if you give your mind good instructions,
and have the same commitment level you did before.

You KNOW you can do this!
And you know, we'll always be right here to help you regain your true, slender self.

Tony

Thanks Tony. Yes I totally gave myself permission and now I've taken it back. Went out yesterday with friends, ate out no problem...back doing my old routine today. Funny how easy it all comes back together. Looking forward to weighing in next Weds. :)

It's June 1st and I am SO glad I signed on today!  Sherri, I am in the same boat with you!  Just this week I asked my husband to start holding me accountable to do FTS seriously like I did at the beginning.  I went to the doctor this week and was shocked that I had put on more weight than I thought!  I had been off my thyroid medication for a while, and I know that didn't help either.  I am now back on my synthroid and ready to start taking better care of myself.  I used to get on the scales EVERY morning, and I hardly step on them any more.   Today is a new day!!  Thank you so much Sherri !   You have inspired me again.  :)

Hey there! Welcome back. I go back and forth a bit, as well...the scale is my best friend and worst enemy. ;) Best because it keeps me in check and worst ...because it keeps me in check! The awesome thing is that you've lived this way of life before, know that it works for you and know that you CAN DO IT! Sending positive thoughts your way (to you, too, Maddysmom!)!

Welcome home, Jan! :) :) :) :) :)

You have been missed!

Our bodies are truly at our mercy.
When we don't pay attention to them, they don't know what to do.
They most often take the easiest route, which is usually the wrong way.

You know how to get back on track.
And, as always, we're here for you, too! :) :) :)

Thanks Umpa & Tony!  I sure didn't mean to hijack Sherri's post.  It was just so inspiring to me to see her courage and also thankful to know that I wasn't alone climbing back on the FTS wagon with you all.   Love you guys!

Hi Jan, it seems a few of us are in the same boat atm.  We will just have to find that oar again and start paddling upstream again.  I'm confident we will all make it.   :D

Hi, Umpa! :)

You're describing how most people I've known that are not carb addicts, control their weight.
When clothes start fitting tighter, they make adjustments.

Those of us with carb issues tend to rely far too much on the scale.
That 'box on the floor' can be our worst enemy, and should be viewed as such.

Those of us who find our moods effected by that box should avoid it as much
as possible and use the 'clothes' method with measurements instead. :)
