Almonds as a snack
« on: June 24, 2014, 01:56:17 PM »
I was watching my husband, who is overweight, grazing on sunday.  so, i went into the kitchen and found our almonds and brought them over - AND, of course, he started snacking on them.  What i noticed is that after snacking on a handful he didn't seem to get up and go back into the kitchen to find another snack.  he seemed to be okay.....sneekie, i know, but someone has to take the initiative.   ::) :o ;D ;)

Hi, Ellie! :)

Whatever works to help bring better health to your home is good!!! :) :) :)

We have so many delicious alternatives to sugary or starchy snacks,
there's no real excuse to keep them around.

Umpa, I think our Moms exchange notes!  I LOVE "food pusher", stealing it to use on a lot of people I know ;D.

Hey, not sure if you have a Sam's Warehouse in your area, but they sell these HUGE containers of chocolate almonds for around $10.  They aren't coated in chocolate, they just have a chocolate dusting on them.....delicious!

Me too, Jan! :) :) :)

I also love the Blue Diamond Toasted Coconut Almonds... YUMMY!!! ;D ;D ;D
They are 4 net carbs per ounce. So measuring portions is quite necessary.

Hi, Umpa! :)

I get mine at my local Walmart.
I've seen them for sale online, too.

Amazon has them listed here:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/180-3493946-0238365?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Blue%20Diamond%20Toasted%20Coconut%20Almonds

They're a little pricey. But as an occasional treat, well worth it! :)
