Yesterday I made Umpa and I a lovely lunch of Low Carb Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks. The plates below were delicious and we enjoyed every bite!
Low Carb Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks with Mashed Celery Root and Caulimash (serves 2)
Ingredients
1 nice large thick piece of fresh tuna
2 tablespoons white and black sesame seeds mixed together
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
1/2 cup mashed celery root (peel boil and mash with butter)
1/2 cup caulimash
pickled ginger root sliced
wasabi paste
soy sauce
Directions
1- Coat the fish on all sides with a thick coating of sesame seeds a steak seasoning being sure to press the crust into the fish
2- Heat the oil up in a cast iron skillet over high heat till it smokes
3- Sear the fish 30 per side and let rest 5 minutes
4- Slice thin and serve with sides
