It's funny really, whenever I'm at the grocery store waiting to check out...I tend to look at other peoples purchases, and think....do you really know how much sugar is in all that stuff you're buying????

FTS really does open your eyes in a big way! :) :)

I agree, Renee! :)

We're keenly aware of how differently food looks thru "FTS glasses".
We see all that toxic sugar people are eating and feeding their obese children.

And they wonder; "How come I can't seem to lose weight?".
Sounds like Doug tries to answer that for them in check out lines. :)

Another pound down...another small win! I'm now in my 220's yay!!!!! Now of course the gloves are off!  :)

Just set my alarm on my cell phone to 5:00am daily  :) Going to go out for my daily walk while the temp is cool, come back and sit on the porch with my first cup of coffee to cool down before I have to get ready for work.  :) I can hop on my gazelle during the afternoon and early evening to add more exercise.  :)

Now my blood sugar is well under control, it's way past time my weight was under control as well!  ;) ;) ;)

And for me FTS is the way I'll be able to achieve this......my new lifestyle  :) :) :)

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Hooray, Renee!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You're well on your way!

Those early morning walks in the summertime are my favorites of the entire year.
The air is cool and smells so fresh and clean early in the morning. :) :) :)

What is your "gazelle"?... I assume you're not riding wild animals! :D :D :D

Hey Tony,

The Gazelle is a piece of exercise equipment, you don't walk as much as glide, very low impact, you exercise both your arms and your legs at the same time. I exercise to 80's rock n roll! I'm reorganizing my home office today with the music blaring, actually dancing around the office as I move things around, doesn't feel like work that way hahaha  :) :) :)

Now I can actually say "I eat to live - not live to eat!"  ;D ;D

Just finished a terrific workout....now onto the porch with my cup of coffee to cool down, and of course the fur balls want out to play....gotta love those felines  :) :) :)..

Had to rethink my early morning walk, I forgot about the bears...certainly don't want to be two-stepping with a black bear anytime soon!  :) :)

Another 1.4lbs down, a small step forward and a win!  :)  :)  :)

At my heaviest I tipped the scales at 256lbs, so for me weighing in this morning at 228.2 was an accomplishment! If I can lose 1lb a week I will be a happy camper. I set myself doable goals in 10lb increments, that way the finish line doesn't appear so daunting!  ;D ;D ;D

That's great, Renee!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

But remember... FTS is a lifestyle and NOT a race!
If you have weeks where you lose less (or nothing), don't despair.
This is NORMAL for most folks.

Also, do not forget to keep taking your measurements.
Often, the body will shrink faster than the number on the scale.

Our ultimate goal should be getting healthier and healing the damage from years of carb abuse.
The fat loss will be a natural byproduct of that.

Kudos for staying the course! :)

Thanks Tony,

I know I will reach a plateau at some point, and I can deal with that it's par for the course, but it's just a bump in the road to a healthier me! :)

Plus as my clothes are becoming looser that is the real tell for me. But I really must get a tape measure, so I can keep track of the measurements.  ;D ;D

Its normal Renee if you will reach plateau stage. Our body has its own way to maintain equilibrium. So, if our body system notice that we lost much weight the tendency is that we experience plateau stage. Fortunately, you can break that plateau stage by watching your calorie intake.

Hi, Rennard! :)

Calorie counting is NOT part of the FTS lifestyle!!!

The calorie "theory" is one reason most of us got FAT and stayed FAT for many years.
Limiting carbs and managing portion sizes are major parts of what we do.

In what I've observed from our FTS family, some things that will break a plateau include:

(1) Lower number of carbs. For example, if you eat 20 net carbs a day, try 15 for a week or so.

If you go back to up 20 after and stall again, go back down to 15.
But if 15 doesn't do it, try 10 for about another week or so.
A big part of FTS is fine tuning what we consume to fit our bodies needs and our goals.

(2) Adjust portion sizes. As we lose fat, our bodies need less food for fuel.

(3) Drinking more water.

(4) Getting more sleep (if needed).

(5) Increasing activity levels to stir up metabolic rate.

(6) Avoiding, or properly dealing with, stress.
