Soybeans

  I've seen some posts regarding soybeans and products made from soybeans. I looked them up online and it said a 1/2 c. of raw soybeans is 9 net carbs.  This seems too high to use soybeans on a daily bases. I'm I calculating them right?  There seems to be a lot of good soy products but I don't want to eat them if they use up a lot of my daily carb bank account.  Are they only for people trying to maintain their weight?

Did you check the fiber count?

beebs is right, minus the fiber.we eat alot of soy. You have to look at each product individually just because its soy doesn't mean healthy. ;)

Here is my reccomended soy bean snack from my product guide, page #129 a 1/4 cup serving is very filling due to the high protein content, only 2 net carbs.

Dry Roasted Edamame, Lightly Salted, 4 oz

2 net carbs per ¼ cup

Edamame is a specialty soybean harvested as a green vegetable when the seeds are immature and have expanded to fill 80 to 90 percent of the pod width.
