bypass for obese teens

Just caught the tail end of 'the doctors' program where they were thinking about offering obese American teens stomach bypass ops.  I was gobsmacked.  These teens have many many years where they can modify their behaviour.  Why go straight to surgery?  Who is in charge of your medical board?  I think they need be replaced.  Bypass does not solve anything  - we all know that.

My little rant over.  Anyone agree with their possible decision?

oh Morgan, you've hit on one of my pet peave topics! It's not just by-pass, heck we have 14 year old girls here in the states who's parents sign off on breast implants, butt, implants, botox for gods sake! "I want my child to feel confident" is the mantra from these idiot parents. Ridiculous!

I dont think anyone should get bypass surgery Morgan. Everybody I know that had it doe has gained the weight back.By the way after surgery they put you on a low carb diet,why not before?

Bypass surgery should ONLY be performed to remove diseased tissue or abnormalities.

For weight control alone, it is FAR too risky to venture.
This is true for people of ALL ages!
