Chocolate syrup is the coffee syrups they sell at the grocery that are sugarfree. The top is just shaved chocolates.I put it in a bundt pan because thats all I had at the time but I suggest 2 eight inch rounds for a birthday cake.Or cupcakes would be fun for the kids.It is very rich.It has to be stored in the fridge though because of the cream cheese. ;)

Hey Umpa, Hope you are having fun on your travels and be safe.  I was wondering too what the carb count was on the cake.  Thanks for reminding us to keep the cake in the refrigerator because of the cream cheese.  I might try making the cupcakes and freezing a few for future indulging!  THANKS AGAIN!  :D

Hey Umpa,  Hope you are having a good day.  I baked the cake last night and feel like I did everything according to your directions.  Please remember that I am new at a lot of these new ingredients -- I have never eaten xylitol and soy flour.  The cake was very moist and turned out good (36 minutes in the oven).
I will have to get use to the "replacement" ingredients.  The icing was good too. For the syrup in the icing I used 1/2 cup of Hershey's sugar free chocolate.  It was good.  THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS RECIPE FOR ME.  I may try cupcakes next time and freeze some for future indulging.  Have a great day!

Thanks Umpa!  I always enjoy hearing your input and new recipes!  Counting down the days to October to buy the new cookbook!!!   :D

Make it a great day and enjoy your grandbaby(s).  I'm keeping our 14 month old and 4 1/2 years old grandsons for the weekend.  Our son and his wife are celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversay today and flying from SC to FL for a fun getaway!

Yes! I am soooo excited for the new Cook Book Umpa! ....Please please, I hope it is in tangible form and not an e-book!
I just do so much better holding it in my hands like Dougs first breakthrough Fat to Skinny Book! :D

and sweet woman, did you ever get the carb count on the cake or by the cup cake or the whole cake, which ever way~~ ?
I have all the ingredients ready except for the coffee/choc. syrup, I cannot find any, is there a close sub. for that, I love the sound of
coffee involved with the flavoring!

Cyndi forgive me! The carb count for the cake is 36 carbs for the entire cake and its 16 servings so its 2.25 carbs a piece.
The frosting is 18 because of the cream cheese. If i had it to to over again i would have cut the cream cheese with alittle sour cream to make it fluffier.the frosting adds another 1.13 carbs per serving. So one piece of cake with frosting is 3.38 carbs. This cake is really decadent! ;D
