Baked Brie on Apple Slices

Baked Brie on Apple slices

INGREDIENTS
Sliced apples
Brie cheese

This is one of the few times I’ll use apples in a recipe; however, you can control the portions very easily. Choose a nice crisp apple like a Rome, Mac or a Granny Smith, and cut the slices very thin. Cut a big X in the top of a 4 oz wheel of brie cheese and place into a buttered baking dish. Bake in 350-degree oven until brown and bubbly, around six minutes. Serve on dinner plate surrounded with apple slices. Limit yourself to 1/4 apple (4 carbs
***Brie is also very good on strawberries ,gg brancrisp, toasted tortillas, jicama celery,or anything (low sugar)you like to dip into cheesedip! The strawberries are my favorite! ;D

Could some one tell me how many layers of paper the brie comes in? I took off the outer plastic wrap and there is this white paper over the cheese that smells like something you develop film with. Are you supposed to eat this? I really want to eat my cheese!!!

The white "cover" is the cheese rind, some people eat it and some don't. It does have a nasty kind of smell. I usually discard it and just eat the creamy center spread on the fruit or brancrisp.

We were at a party and instead of the puff pastry baked Brie, she served it with pecans dripping in a brown sugar syrup.  Is there any sort of substitute for the syrup?  I'd live to keep the nuts in the mix but keep it FTS friendly.
