Soy Flour (and discussion re availability in Canada)
« on: August 02, 2010, 10:12:12 AM »
Hi Umpa,

I mentioned in another post about the cost of almond flour (I'm wanting to make your spinach bread or one of Katary's breads), but find it really costly here in Canada.

Another newbie Stevo posted a link for a website which I am working my way through and seems great!  I stumbled upon soy flour on this website.
What is your thoughts on soy flour as a replacement in the bread recipe?

Here is the link, am looking forward to your thoughts,
Linda

Soy flour is great, just alittle higher in carbs. You can grind your own nut flours.

Hi again Umpa,

I tried a different grocery store today and in the "bulk foods" area, I found ground almond meal.  Is that ok to use in the spinach bread or does it have to be ground even finer than that?  I think that could be the ticket for me, if its the right stuff to use?

Glad to hear it, looks like I'll be going back there to get some.
Can I use it as is in the spinach bread though Beebs?  Do you know, or.....(as I've read in the forum), are you not allowed in the kitchen unsupervised?

Don't you have 911 on speed dial?
