Beebs, you can definitely do this.  I myself do not like any overly complicated recipes.

All you do is mix the ingredients (listed on previous post) into a batter.  Then pour the batter into a square plastic dish or container.  Any shape is fine, but then your bread will take on that shape.  You could do round for a burger bun.

Microwave for a minute and a half, and the batter magically rises into a nice spongey bread.  At this point it is one thick piece that should pop right out of the container.  Allow it to cool for a couple of minutes, then carefully slice it horizontally so you have two pieces of bread.

Put a light coating of butter on one side of each piece of bread, then build a sandwich (mine had cheese slices, turkey, and a piece of bacon) with the buttered sides on the outside.  Place the sandwich on a hot griddle, a few minutes on each side, until the cheese is melty and bread is a little crustier.

That's it!  Hope it helps! :)

Seriously? Was it golden flax seed or the regular kind?

Beebs,
I have been using the golden and they are great. Just made them with pepper jack cheese tonight.

My flax meal isn't golden and it works great too.  But I'm gonna pick up some golden to see if it has a more neutral taste.

I made myself a "hamburger bun" last night....very good. I have found that the recipe really doesn't need the Tbsp of butter. I have only been putting in about a tsp and don't even know if that is necessary. Added a sprinkle of onion powder instead of sweetener. The "muffins" are very satisfying and the flax really helps keep the intestines working ;)

Umpa,
You are correct as always. I just went out and bought a large bag of organic milled flax. I cant wait to get off work today and make a sandwich. I haven't had a piece of bread in about 45 pounds. OMG that sandwich looks good.  ;D

That was fantastic. I haven't had bread in so long. I stopped on my way into work this morning at McDonald's and got a sausage mcmuffin threw out the muffin and substituted with the bread I made last night. It was so good my stomach hurts I fill way to full. Sure was good.
Beebs how did yours turn out?
