cheaper Shirataki noodles

Someone I work with sent me a link to this site. Their noodles are also 0 carbs just like miracle noodles, but they cost $1.48 per 7 oz bag instead of $2.19 per bag at the miracle noodle site.

Last week I was SO excited when I found Shirataki noodles in the produce section at the Ingles Grocery Store.  Unfortunately EVERY pack they had was past the expiration date by a week.  I asked the produce manager about it, and he pulled them from the shelf.

I just called today and they have re-stocked.  He said the new exp date on the ones they have is Febuary 2011.  I can't wait to try them!!

Just rinse them very well, they have a bit of a fishy smell when you open the bag. I actually rinse them then soak them in a pot of water for ten minutes, strain and rinse once more. Next I always heat them by themselves in a non stick skillet to evaporate some water from them.....then I dress them with the chosen sauce.  ;)
