Ask Umpa / Pesto
« on: September 20, 2011, 04:03:35 PM »
Hi Umpa I am looking for a good low carb pesto sauce or to make my own.

This may be another dumb question. I love pesto more than candy.  ::)

Pesto cauliflower pizza sounds so good!

You shouldn't be starving Phil unless you keep falling back into carbs....they WILL make you hungry.

Meats and greens coupled with fats will keep you full.

Just trying to be funny again.  ::)
I am doing great. Not starving. I am out of my slump for a while now. Have been eating right and loosing. Stopped drinking diet sodas and sf candy, I may have been going overboard on those.

Looks like California is going to be a thing of the past we are getting ready to move to Texas. Cali is too cool we need humidity and high temps. Oh yea and family closer.

Eating the FTS way in my house is not always easy, it has been very hard some times. Wife and daughter eat regular diet and do not want to hear about what I think is best. I missed my calling. I like to preach  ::) My wife has done Atkins before with success. She says it is to hard to stick with. She hates veggies  :-\ go figure. Likes meat, potatoes and romaine lettuce along with lots of starchy stuff rice etc etc. Her sister lives with us has full blown type 2 and lives on candy sodas and everything she should avoid, she is a grown up and can eat what she wants. My house has a wide range of stuff I do not eat or want, drives me crazy.
I have faltered a little "not bad" but am going to get back on track 100%! I have never felt better than when I followed Doug's plan. So to get to the point I am going to be checking in and asking for support like only this forum can give. I know I can do this, just not on my own. Thanks for the shoulder.

Now she just looked at your before and after and wants to start eating FTS with me now. I can hardly wait to show my wife! Oh by the way you do not look old, you look great, I would even go as far as to say HOT, keep it up!

Kay, this is a great place to hang out. The support is fantastic. Yes I have strayed do to looking for a job among other things, "bla bla bla"  I am having a hard time doing this on my own, so I'm Back  :D

Sides and Snacks / Almond Butter
« on: December 01, 2010, 04:38:40 PM »
I made almond butter yesterday in the food processor. Grindy thingy beebs.  ;D
I had to scrape and grind to get butter consistency on almond butter, came out very good.
1 cup dry roasted almonds 1/4 stick real butter and a little stevia "very little" Has to go in the fridge after making. Cheaper than buying it at Costco.

Then slather on flax toast yum.

If you are not eating them trace. If they are falling apart you might get a little more.
