Title: Great Brain Food Recipe...Eat More Fish :)
Post by: Doug Varrieur on December 09, 2012, 10:31:39 AM
As you all know Umpa and I LOVE fishing...and we love to eat the fish we catch. In fact we only fish for the species we like to cook with. We leave the big :catch and release: sport fish to others. For us it's all about the recipes. Tonight we'll enjoy one of our fav species, Gag Grouper. We caught this 30 inch Gag day before yesterday and we have countless recipes to enjoy the thick white filets. Tonight's recipe will include 4 of the top 10 brain food ingredients, fish..curry..berries and leafy greens. Why brain food? Brain foods keep you sharp, balanced and functioning properly. Continued consumption of brain foods have also been linked to lower Dementia and Alzheimer's. Include better memory function into the party and brain foods quickly become one of our most important food groups. Here's a recipe I'm certain you'll enjoy.

Time for fish! :)

When isn't it time for fish???

I've been known to blend boneless fish (or shellfish) into into eggs and cheese for breakfast omelets! ;D

We have no car and eating only what protein we have left- fish, lots of brain food, lol. Had salmon for lunch. I sauteed it in a pan, seasoned with smoked paprika, salt-free southwest chipole and salt-free seasoning with citrus. Was delicious. No lettuce or cabbage but we have cucumber so mixed slices in Italian dressing & made into a cucumber salad.

Still no car, maybe later today or tomorrow. Have 1 lb of Hebrew National Kosher Beef Sausage (low carb, yay) and 2 lbs Tilapia Fillets left for meals un til I can drive to the store. Sausage is highly flavorable so I use that for seasoning, for dinner yesterday added fresh diced tomatoes, fresh minced garlic and sliced green onion & sauteed in olive oil , was fresh & flavorful.

Thanks Tony, mixed it up a bit tonight, same foods but added smoked paprika and Target's Salt-free seasoning. I like this seasoning because it adds a nice citrus flavor and merge well with the smoked paprika.
