Hi Nita!  :)

Did your doctor take blood and run tests to see how your liver and kidneys are doing?

My doc was against low carb at first (as I too have had kidney issues involving surgery about 13 years ago).
Call me crazy, but that did not stop me.
I kept living the FTS lifestyle because I believed his opinion was based on simple opinion and not medical evidence.

When I saw him again (about 2 weeks after starting FTS), he again took blood and ran a few tests in his office.
He then said; "Whatever you're doing Tony, keep it up! You're numbers look GREAT!".
See: http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=1051.msg8401#msg8401

Unless you have some sort of kidney disease that would be aggravated by a very low carb regime, I think your doctor may be acting like mine did at first.

If he hasn't already, I'd ask for a full blood panel (i.e. tests) to see how your system is doing on FTS BEFORE you give up on it.
After the tests, you and your doctor will be able to make an INFORMED decision about your eating pattern.

i trust this doctor he has saved my life in the past
so i donot doubt what he says    i did do bloodwork
and my numbers were not good   i told him about
the new way i was eating and a big NO! i see him
again in a month with more blood work to be done
i will cut back but i cant go all the way with the
low carb

I had been using corn oil, so you can now see my dilemma

yes i can see that  i can understand the whole corn  i grew up eating all the wrong things

The problem nitason1 is that I am allergic to peanuts. That hole family of soy and peanuts is out of the question.

that is not a fun thing im sure!
