Hi Vajrayana  Welcome to the FTS family  :)

I have not ever seen or tried this product but I do know that rice flour is a high carb choice.  I wonder how much a 1 oz serving makes and if that is how they can claim a low carb count.  Lower the serving sizes to be able to claim low carb.  Appearing to be healthy.   :-\  I couldn't find the nutritional information on it in your link so I tried to look elsewhere.  Here is a link to the info about the carb count on the flour........with no surprise.   http://www.carb-counter.net/cereal-grains-pasta/2179   It says 32 servings per package.....how many do you get out of it when you use it?  Does it taste like regular pasta?  Thanks for the input  ;)

All relative information is listed above regarding everything you asked.

Thanks for the carb counter.net link.  I have the Fat To Skinny ebook.

Welcome to the family, Vajrayana!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

If I saw it on a store shelf and the ingredients list stated that "rice flour" is one of the top three ingredients, I would not buy it.

Like TooSweet's link shows, rice flour (which is simply rice that's dried and ground into a flour) is VERY high in net carbs.
Rice flour (like wheat flour) is not part of the FTS lifestyle.

Thanks for posting this!
If you had not, you might soon be wondering why you were not losing (maybe even gaining) weight.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your FTS journey!

Tony

Greetings Tony.

So that I'm clear, are you indicating that even though the carb count is (6) per ounce, it's not wise to use this?

I have begun nothing until I'm clear on lots of stuff.  Cooking is no longer something I enjoy doing and I'm not interested in learning to cook anew, so the feedback from both you and TooSweet is vital.

I appreciate being able to brush up against those of you who are "seasoned at this new way of living".

Thank you so much, truly.

Hi Vajrayana! :)

In answer to your question, "yes". It's unwise to use this product.

Sadly, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is not very fussy about carb counts accuracy on food labels.
That's why it's important to also read the ingredients lists.

When I shop, I first look for products that report a low net (usable) carb count.
Of those, I read the ingredients lists.
And if ANY one of the first three ingredients listed is high in carbs, I don't buy it.

We are here to help you (and each other) reach weight loss goals.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, never hesitate to ask.

One other thing, if you have not read Doug's book, please read it ASAP.
It will help you get off on the right foot... And we'll help you stay on course with your FTS journey! ;)

Hi Vajrayana
That is what we are here for  :D  You just ask away someone will be around to help.  Doug and Umpa are here everyday as well  ;)  That is what I love about this place, everyone is so supportive and helpful.

Here is a few ideas to use for a pasta replacement that will help keep you in the under 20 carbs.  My favorite is the julienned zucchini  ;) I just saute it in garlic and butter and have the pasta sauce right on top.....so so good

Hello.

My (years ago) experiences with tofu were not great.  It was always rubbery.  Maybe it's gotten better, but my issue is I have zero interest in becoming a cook again.  Cooking no longer appeals to me and I look forward to being able to engage someone who loves to cook and have them master your recipes.  In spite of that, I feel this new agenda will work for me.

Thanks so much for your feedback.  :o

Asiangrocer.com is my favorite place to get noodles.Konjac noodles are awesome!,wicked low carb And cheap. You don't have to cook them just rinse and eat .Any good chinese market sells them.in Atlanta you should have a chinese market. ;)
I also like eggplant(or zuchinni) for lasanga.Spagetti squash can be cooked in a microwave, just poke holes in it(or it will explode)and toped with your favorite pasta toppings ;)

Greetings Umpa.

(1) No listing for AsianGrocer.Com.  I did find AsianFoodGrocer.Com.

(2) No product there named Konjac Noodles.  Will do a google search, and my house mate is Asian so yes there are Asian Markets here.

(3) Don't like regular squash at all.  If you're talking about a different product I'll have to inquire.

Thanks and please check your email for my inquires about doing a show on my Radio Channel Umpa.

Blessings.

TooSweet - do you use a gadget to get your zucchini so perfect?

Hi Amber

Yea I love gadgets...LOL  I started off with the first one and I really like it but I have a tendency to catch my fingers.  It's hard not to cut yourself it's so sharp.  The second one is the bomb though.   Suzlyn454 (one of my mom's  ;))  turned me on to it.  It is a awesome tool to have.  You can find her post about it here http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=3447.0  You can cut your zucchini and saute it quicker than it takes to boil pasta  ;)  It works great to put in raw for dishes cooked in the oven like oven baked spaghetti and such....  ;D

I had to modify this post because I forgot to put the link to the peeler...LOL  http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=16559512
