Rena in a few days you will feel a difference. You will just feel good. ;) Be careful using bee pollen with the kids unless you are sure they are not allergic.

Thanks for asking Doug  :)
I know I said I wouldn't weigh myself for awhile - I had a slip up this week. I actually put on 3 lbs.  I  have been walking in the morning and taking samE for stress relief which has helped.  I going to think of the positives and not get frustrated and stop. I know one of my problems is diet Pepsi .  I drink way too much - 4 cans a day.

Have a good day everyone ;)

Hi Faith! :)

12 pounds is a great start!

If you've slowed down or stopped, those 4 cans of Diet Pepsi may be to blame.
Trying going a week or so without any and see what happens.

Drink more water instead.
Drinking lots of water helps weight loss.
What you do today is what matters!

Thanks Tony

I agree  :) I really think that diet pop hinders my weight loss.  I have gone cold turkey couple of times and each time  my tongue swelled and I couldn't stand the headache.  I know that alone should make me stop, but like any addiction it doesn't .  I  am going to cut down first and then take it from there.

Hi Faith! :)

Sounds like you're experiencing severe caffeine withdrawals.

I agree with your approach.
Slowly back off... But be prepared for headaches for a few days after you stop.
Once you get past them, you should feel a lot better.

At that point, don't allow yourself to get "hooked" on caffeine again... It's not worth it for you.
An occasional pop is one thing. But not every day!

Most of us here are addictive personality types. So you're not alone.
We're right here with ya! :) :) :)
What you do today is what matters!

Faith,

Check those labels on diet drinks...I just checked mine as several have high sodium content.  Maybe no sugar but sodium will cause you to retain fluid and not loose.  I don't have diet pepsi right now so don't know the info but the others we have range from 35-125 mg sodium.  I limit myself to 1 diet drink a day or none.  I know it's hard but you will feel sooooo much better.  Glad to know you are only drinking the 1 serving size cans..we discussed awhile back that if you were drinking the 16 ounce bottles you would be in fact taking 2 servings versus 1.
Look out Hawaii, I'm on my way!!

Thanks guys :o - Wow! never thought about the sodium content.  You know it's bad when your 12 year old says "I bet you would be slim if you didn't drink so much diet pop" I bet he is right.  My DH also drinks diet pop.  We drink diet pop like people drink coffee.  I had another idea, I might start diluting the pop until it's mostly water.

Anyhow thanks for your wonderful advice :)

I'm going to have a caffeine issue pretty soon if I don't lay off the coffee, Faith. This is a good reminder. I'll switch to decaf for now. I gave it up years ago for medical reasons and can do it again, but I sure enjoy my coffee!

You could try replacing one of your pops with something like Crystal Light. I know both have sweeteners, but eventually, it might help wean you off from thinking you "need" that many sodas each day. I used to drink a lot more than I do now. I maybe have one a day, if any at all. I drink a lot of those 0 calorie drink mixes, but I put them in a really big water bottle so they're watered down good. After awhile, I just start craving plain water, which is always a good thing. Good luck!

Morning Everybody,

When I started this journey getting off the popsoda wagon was
ruff and I mean ruff. I had a diet coke with every meal except breakfast
and more between meals it was a habit I didn't need. It's funny how
things work out sometimes tho fer the better. In 2008 or round abouts
there, I got so thirsty I couldn't drink enough of anything, I was moving
from a pre-diabetic to full blown Type-ll diabetic. I was shopping at the
Costco in Jacksonville and saw this stuff called Fruit2O , I looked at the
label and it was 0 carbs and 0 calories. I bought a case of 24 bottles
and never went back to diet anything (ok a diet Dr. Pepper everyonce in a while)

You can get it a Costco/Sams most of the time as a case or in Palatka
at the Publix in smaller sixpacks(I get the grape flavors), this is one them
there "Don't take away some without replacing it with something better things"
here is their link(just found out what a link was)  http://www.fruit2o.com

Check it out IMHO , it was a game changer fer me.

Y'all have a great day,
Buford and the Girls
