Thanksgiving
« on: August 20, 2010, 01:03:31 PM »
Hi Umpa,

So I was thinking that since Thanksgiving is around the corner, you may be willing to give us replacement ideas for those delicious traditional dishes.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and every year I cook with such pleasure and my family eats with such pleasure. I want them to enjoy again thsi year but in a tasteful and super healthy way..

Are you gamed for that?   :) ;) :D ;D ::) :P

Yes you forgot something Beebs.......the TURKEY!  8) Umpa and I have "thanksgiving" 6-8 times per year, as a matter of fact....just had one. I smoked a big Turkey breast and we had green beans, cauli mashed tators, buttery summer squash with a bit of cinnamon and peanut butter ice cream for dessert. Over time we've simply rid ourselves of stuffing replacements....not necessary for a good meal.  8)

C'Mon guys! what is this obsession with bread and stuffing? As Joe Pesci would say " Foget about it" in that great Italian wise guy accent. I assure you if you build your Thanksgiving dinner low sugar low carb and skip the stuffing you won't miss it.
