Sorry if I am just not seeing it ??? but could someone please guide me to the recipe for OMM?  It looks like ALOT can be done with it.  The corn dog comment got my attention!  It looks like some type of lc dough recipe?

General Questions / Re: Sweeteners and substitutions
« on: January 21, 2012, 07:00:29 PM »
Back when I was looking to remove sugar from my diet & unhealthy artificial sweeteners I tried it all.  Like Xylitol and Erythritol though the "itol" sweeteners can cause tummy distress sometimes.  My fav is liquid stevia.  Sweetleaf is the bomb and I order it on Amazon.  There are different flavors also like Vanilla Creme - YUMMY!!  Also chocolate & root bear ~ You can use the rootbear stevia in sparkling water to make root bear ~ Again Yummy!!  Anyways, I just wanted to share  :)

General Questions / Low Carb Meal Replacement Shakes
« on: January 19, 2012, 08:31:36 AM »
Good Morning!
Does anyone have advise for using Low Carb Products such as Atkins and Slim Fast Low Carb Shakes & Bars?  I like them especially for the added potassium and calcium.  Example, the Slim Fast can only has 2 net carbs.  Is this okay as long as I still keep my total net carb intake below 20?
Thanks,
Kim

I am getting my list together too Sweeties.  It has helped to look at the forum topic about recommended products that other members like to use.  I am thinking lots of protein products, greens, nuts & healthy fats and we should be good to go.  I am going to detox my kitchen though.  I think that it'll make all the difference in the world to not have temptations lurking in the cabinets & fridge.  Good Luck!!!

Hey Sweeties ~ sorry you are pulling hospital duty also but glad things are getting better.  My brother got a clot so he will have to be here until at least Saturday ~ ugghh!  I see you are also getting ready to start this.  We can do it!  Hopefully, next week I can get things together.  The good news is that just by making a few changes where I can based on what I am reading here I think I have already lost a little bit (my pants feel looser) ~ we shall see  :)  I had bacon & eggs this morning, coffee w/ cream & stevia.

Ya'll have a great day!!

General Discussion / Getting Ready to Start FTS
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:58:53 PM »
Hi ~
I am getting ready to start FTS on Monday.  Right now I am in the ICU everyday with my brother (only 52 yrs old) who had emergency bypass surgery so I don't really have time until next week to get food/recipes/thoughts together.  Certainly a wake up call for me and hubbie seeing him go through this.  My husband is in for a surprise because he is coming along on this journey with me. I have already read the book and feel like I have a good idea of what to do.  I am a bit concerned about the difficulty of changing eating habits because that is not an easy thing to do for anyone.  It makes sense to me to keep carb intake below 20 g per day until the goal weight is reached.  I am looking forward to using the wisdom that all of you provide within the forum so THANK YOU for that!
