General Questions / Boston Butt Pork Roast ??
« on: April 14, 2012, 02:03:41 PM »
Hi.....I just picked up a boston butt roast at a church fund raiser.
It didn't have any wet bbq sauce on it, but they probably put a dry rub prior to smoking.
This may sound dumb, but do you think i'm ok as long as I  don't eat the outside?
Do you think the sugar in the dry rub will soak into the meat while cooking?

Thanks,
Freda

General Discussion / Reached my GOAL Weight!!
« on: October 06, 2011, 09:00:34 PM »
I reached my goal weight this past weekend.  ;D  I still can't believe I lost 28 lbs eating whenever I was hungry and I didn't exercise two hours everyday either.  Doug was right...the fat just melted off!

However.....the next day I ate a donut!  I really thought I could control my eating and I was at my "happy" weight , so why not have one little donut!   Guess what???? The mean sugar monster has had a hold of me for 4 days now!!!  I have gained two pounds back but most of all feel out of control again  :'(  I hate the feeling of not being able to control my food intake.

On a positive note....it's almost 8 pm and no sugar today.  I have a nasty headache....but I'm in control!!  I'm planning my meals already for tomorrow and writing everything down.

I really believe that sugar is like a drug for me!

My children's school has implemented a "Walking Club" in the morning before school starts.  It's not much .....but it's a step in the right direction.

Don't stop.....it will start coming off!  Think about how well you did resisting "bad" food!

I'm at a total of 19 lbs in 40 days.   I honestly can't believe it!  I've never lost weight like this before and I feel good too!

The only times I have ever lost 4 lbs in one week, was the first week of any diet (water weight).  I lost 4 on the 5th week! Still can't believe it!   On Weight Watchers.......I was lucky to lose 1 lb a week and all I did was think about food and when I was going to eat next.  I'm a life time member of weight watchers, so I'm not putting them down.  This is just so much easier.

I am soooo glad I grabbed that little yellow book off the shelf at Barnes and Nobles!

General Discussion / Salads are soooo good now!
« on: August 19, 2011, 11:55:23 AM »
I love eating salad now and NOT feeling guilty about all the "bad" stuff on it!

In the past my "diet" salad would consist of lettuce and fat free dressing :( Yuck!  I would make myself eat it just to fill my tummy up, so I wouldn't be starving.

Now I'm enjoying cheese, bacon, a little ham, eggs and full calorie tasty dressing! (When I was dieting I wouldn't of touched those things with a ten foot poll!)    I know it sounds silly to be excited over a salad....but they sooo good and I am losing weight.  Its a miracle!

Oh.....and has anyone else had to train themselves to like mayo and butter?  I have never eaten them because they are bad for you and make you fat.    Now i'm eating them and losing weight!  Miracle!

Have a good weekend!

Hi Happy Camper,

I started on July 14th ;D

The week before last I didn't lose a single pound either.  I was even exercising more!  Only thing I did differently that week was...... I discovered one minute muffins!  I LOVE them and ate one everyday that week.

So last Saturday I stopped eating them and I lost the very next day!  Strange, huh? Who knows if was the muffins or maybe my body just needed a week to catch up.  I'm hoping for 3 lbs this week!!

Have you been eating anything different?  Good luck!

Hi  ;D
I've been living the FTS way for 17 days and feel wonderful!

I lost 7 the first week..... but can do that on any diet I can manage to stay on for a week. (water weight)

So I was very surprised when I returned from vacation yesterday and lost 4 lbs my second week!
WOW! I can't believe I lost weight and ate all the stuff that I did!  I didn't eat any "diet" food and lost 4 lbs!

I can't believe how suppressed my appetite is..... but I have to admit I'm scared it will come back!
