Hi Tony! Thank you!

Audra~

Welcome to the FTS family, Emmitt!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Removing carbs (sugar) from your regimen will keep your blood glucose low.
Cancer feed on glucose.
Cancer researchers add sugar to the medium in which they grow cancer cells.

I pray that FTS will keep your leukemia at bay. :)

We are a VERY supportive group here, Emmitt.
Please take advantage of the support we offer.

Hi Doug!  I have never heard of jicama.  I will check and see if there's one in the stores.  Since I am single - living alone.  I would prefer scramble egg instead of white egg.  Can I choose 2 (scrambled) eggs and 2 or 3 turkey bacon?  There's not any bran crispbread in stores at all.  I guess I would have to order them through online.  Thanks for this recipe.  I will try that.

Eggs Smothered And Covered in a Jicama Basket with Turkey Bacon and Crispbread

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS
1 medium jicama
4 eggs
6-8 slices turkey bacon
2-4 slices gg bran crispbread
2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter
salt & pepper

In a medium skillet fry your turkey bacon in butter until done to your likeness, then set aside

Julianne your Jicama and pan fry in butter on medium heat until golden brown.

Separate Jicama into two separate “baskets” and drop two eggs into each basket. Cover and reduce heat to medium low. Cook eggs until the whites and the top of the yolk turn “opaque” I like to use a glass cover on my skillet so I can keep an eye on things. Sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top, cover and turn off heat. While cheese melts arrange your bacon and GG Bran Crispbread on plates. Gently scoop out baskets and plate.

Hi Andrea! Thanks for tip.  What is the name of brand of heavy whipping cream would you recommend?  I just bought Reddi wip whipped topping for strawberries.  Ok That's great that eggs is only .6 carb less than 1 carb.  So If I get 2 eggs that would be .12 carb?

Looks good.

One suggestion is to switch to heavy whipping cream for your coffee.  If you need the sweetness, order some FTS Zero.  It is liquid sucralose, the sweetner in Splenda, but since it is liquid, there are no carbs.

This would save you the 2 carbs in the coffeemate.

As a general rule, we count eggs as .6 carbs.

You made good choices.  Over time, 2 eggs will be filling.

And make sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water.

Good morning! I have two questions about breakfast that I ate this morning. I want to make sure if I am following through correctly.

I ate bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese and iced coffee.

2 bacon for 0 Carb
2 eggs for 0 Carb
Coffee mate - 2 Carb
Iced Coffee ?? How many Carb is that? 1 carb?

Total NET CARB is 2 Carb for breakfast.

Is it okay that I eat 2 bacon and 2 eggs?

At first, I ate bacon and scrambled eggs along with iced coffee.  I waited 15 minutes - still hungry so I ate cheese stick.

Thank you! Got it! :)

:D Hey Emmitt ... Best advice, avoid sugar like the plague. Check your carbs, subtract the fiber and sugar alcohols and you have your NET carb count for that item. Once you figure out how many carbs are in that item you can determine if it is worth it or not worth it to consume it. Stay under 20 NET carbs per DAY. There are some things I enjoy like fruits that have a higher carb count. In order to stay within the perimeters of FST and have my fruits, I adjust the rest of my menu for that day accordingly. Probably the safest way for you to go for the first couple of weeks would be to stick with meats, cheeses, eggs, sugarfree jellos, whipped cream, nuts and the like. The further you get into the process...the simpler it all becomes. I personally like to avoid sugar alcohols too... they can cause some stomach upset.
Go check out the "Ask Umpa" section and she has some amazing and yummy recipes you can try that will help SO much.  :)

Good Luck!!

Hi Everyone! I just joined this website today.  I bought the book yesterday and I love it! Still learning and excited.  My goal is to lose from 175 to 130.  I have leukemia cancer since 2005.  I was in remission for 2 years but cancer is back. I think positive and believe that I can overcome cancer by losing weight and eat healthy.   :)

Hmm...So I just have to look at Carb, not sugar.  Just subtract from Carb to Fiber and Sugar Alcohol then net carb - I count up to 20 grams a day?  I don't have to worry about looking at sugar or how many grams of sugar...just subtract Carb to Fiber to Sugar?

What about sugar per day? 20 gram of sugar equals no more than 5 teaspoons?

So are you saying...I can pick ANY foods that I want to eat.  When I see the label - carbs then subtract fiber and sugar alcohol then see net carb...if it is 1 gram then it is okay to buy that food?  Hope this make sense. lol

Hi. I just bought the book yesterday and read it all already! I have some questions regarding "sugar" and "carb"....From what I am understanding is do I eat up to 20 grams of carb per meal or per day?  I bought several foods today at the groceries that is sugar free and carb free.  Am I also supposed to count/subtract Carb - Fiber - Sugar Alcohol when I read labels at groceries?  It's confusing to me.  Thanks!
