What a great weekend we had
6 people, 58 pounds of lobster, breakfast lunch and dinner all weekend long....... our annual Lobsterfest
Did you know that most of the lobsters you find in the supermarkets selling for that lost leader price of $4.99 a pound come from Canada? Why is that fact important.... Most areas in Canada close the season in July, the lobsters are then held in captivity and they don't eat. The lobsters start to lose their meat as they starve leaving the shells filled with lots of water and little meat. Ever open up a claw and wonder where the meat was? This is the reason why it's always important to buy direct from the lobsterman or a reputable fish monger if you can. Captain Bob here on Cape Cod has 500 lobster pots and we bought 24 two pounders and two 4 pounders from him for $6.00 per pound which he had caught days earlier. The lobsters were packed with meat and they were delish!
Oh how I love Lobsterfest!
