Highlights from Benefits of Oat Fiber from: http://www.livestrong.com/article/248202-benefits-of-oat-fiber/#ixzz1loZoNRkJ

Health care professionals have advised making fiber a major part of your diet for many years. It helps the colon and other sections of your digestive tract expell waste products from the body. Having a digestive tract that operates correctly means your body is able to eliminate toxins in an efficient way. Elimination of toxins guards the body against many serious illnesses.

Reduces LDL Levels in the Blood
Aids in the Fight Against Diabetes
Protects the Body From Heart Disease and Cancer

If you add an ingredient to recipe that has 0 net carbs to a recipe, you'll add 0 net carbs.
But, if you replace something that has say 3 total net carbs with a 0 net carb item, you'd reduce the total net carbs by 3. ;)
What you do today is what matters!

I'm just looking for some recipes - the comments that I've seen so far say they wouldn't use it alone, but it's a good additive for bulk and texture (makes things more like wheat flour is used). Here's one recipe I found online:
Here is my variation of a chocolate cake recipe that I saw when I first started this WOE. My recipe makes a wonderful Devils food cake that is a rich, dark, and moist chocolate cake tasting like Oreo cookies.

1 15 oz can Eden Farms Black Soy Beans (drained and rinsed well)
4 eggs
4 oz cream cheese
1 tsp baking soda
1 and 1/2 cups sugar equivalent liquid splenda
4 Tbls unsweetened cocoa (I use a mixture of jet black cocoa and a high fat dutched cocoa)
1 cup oat fiber
2 Tbls vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9" cake pan with pan spray, line bottom with parchment paper and spray lightly. Put all ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, loosen sides and invert onto cake rack to cool thoroughly. I have calculated the total net carb count for the cake as 23.4.

And this:
I use oat fiber in my 1 minute flax seed muffin. I use 1/2 flax and 1/2 oat fiber. You have to increase the liquid and flavoring in the recipe. But it makes a softer, cakier porduct. The same batter also makes great waffles.

I've found recipes for pancakes, English muffins, pie crust, the list goes on.

Howdy Y'all from the banks of the St. Johns in Palatka, Fla

My most famous recipe is "How not to burn bacon"

Got's to run up to the VA Clinic in J'ville to see my doctor the
for a scheduled appointment (all is well so far)

But, before I leave I am posting the link to the the recipe for
Oat Fiber pancakes from a fellow low carber and cook

Oat Fiber Pancakes::

These things are so filling, I added more water to thin the fix out some or
they will be to thick for me (worked great) , you will not be hungry for hours
add some real bacon and a big mug of JOE and heaven has arrived at the
breakfast table. IMHO

Sarah thanks so much for the info.  I've been finding quite a bit myself in doing a search.  I'm really interested in the one you listed though.  Using black soy beans and

Well Friends and neighbors, we has done settled the oat bran issue now on to other pressing matters. Doug and Mr. Mouseissue ,you may not have had a Southern traydision  like me
and Ms. UMPA have, being she is a dyed in the wool GRITS(Girl,Raised,In,The,South) lady person. That is the heavenly topping for all Southern breakfast cakes known as
"Cane Sryup or Sugar Cane Sryup". Dark, sweet and will stick to a fork, mixes with
butter and "Red-Eye Gravy" . So PLEASE Mr. Doug , wave your magic wand get them their
brain cells a fired up and see if ya can work of a replacement. Heck fire now that would
really make my day for sure.

Our Best to You and Yours,
Buford and the Girls( MissyBelle and Princess)

OBTW Ms. UMPA sent your picture to a lady friend who was dabbling a toe
in the Low Carb water drouf and now she hooked will order the book soon she
says.

Ah, Buf, don't be confused - oat fiber and oat bran are very different, oat fiber being like 95% fiber and oat bran being like 15% fiber. So NOW we're done with oat fiber - until we get some and start cooking! Then we'll be looking for some CANE SYRUP for our cakes!
