It seems like a lot of trouble to make these bars...but at 1.5 carbs per bar, it's probably worth it.

I calculated 13 carbs...is that for one serving?  Each packet of Splenda, which is 2 tsp, has 1 carb.  One for the egg and 2 for the cocoa.

General Discussion / The Difference Between This WOE and Atkins
« on: July 04, 2010, 05:10:35 PM »
Hi Doug,
I've been following Atkins for the past month.  Been pretty much staying on induction by keeping carbs to 20 and getting in my veggie carbs.  After four weeks, I had lost 18 lbs, but gained back 5 last week.  I obviously did something wrong, but don't know what.  Can you tell me the difference between Atkins and FTS?
Thanks...Kathy

Couldn't you have pulled off the cheese, meat and veggies and left the crust and sauce, or would it have been too much of a temptation to leave the crust?

You are good!  I would have pulled the cheese, meat and veggies off the pizza and eaten it.

General Discussion / Why did Atkins make me so grouchy?
« on: April 24, 2010, 01:42:01 PM »
Hi Doug,
I just came across your book while searching books at an online bookseller.  It looks and sounds a lot like the Atkins plan.  I did that years ago and lost 40 lbs., but put it all back on, and then some, as soon as I stopped that way of eating.  I also limited myself to 20 carbs per day and after about six months, I was so grouchy, I had to stop.  I was told that the strict reduction in carbs is what caused the moodiness and irritability.  I'd love to hear your input.
Thanks so much...
