Ask Umpa / FTS liquid sweetener in 'old' FTS recipes
« on: September 03, 2013, 01:22:44 PM »
Hi Umpa and Doug,
I purchased two of your cookbooks in 2011, and am getting back now to eating low carb.
I notice that you have a new liquid FTS Sweetener.  I was wondering how I could use this in relation to the recipes from 2011, which don't mention this new product.
Is there a conversion for substituting this for sweeteners listed in your 'old' recipes?
If you've already posted about this, could you please direct me to it?
Thanks!!!
Kathy

Hi Doug,
Do you use this mostly for beverages?  Or can you use the Stevita Spoonable Stevia for cooking and baking also?  If not, what are your favorites for baking?

Thanks!
Kathy

Product Reviews / Re: Stevita Stevia, individual packs / Jello

Thanks for the information, Doug!  Sounds great!

In response mmcooks1234's question about SF 'Jello' made with aspartame.... I asked the same question!  :)  I found that Hunts makes sugar-free jello (and pudding cups) that come in 4-packs and are made with Splenda for about $1.00. I purchased these at  Target and my local grocery store. They tasted fine and it's nice if you don't have time to make it from the mix. My feeling about the jello with aspartame is that --for me-- the aspartame is OK in small quantities.

Hi, I recently purchased these on amazon.com - $23.93 & your choice of shipping method (was free for me)
0.4375-Ounce Single Serve Packets (Pack of 200) - ZERO carbs
Great for carrying with to take when eating out, for salads at work, etc.
I'm very glad to have found these!  They're delicious, too!

Hi, Question for Doug... Doug, you mentioned in your book that you like SF jello, but also that you get headaches from aspartame.  Is the small amount that's in jello OK for you, or how do you get around this quandary?   Thanks!  Kathy

Thanks, All, For your very kind welcome and suggestions!  I'm a member of the 700 Club and get their emails. A few weeks ago one had a blurb about Doug's story. I saw his interview and immediately bought his book. GREAT BOOK!  Very easy to read and understand. I'm in the process of buying two for my brothers, and possibly our brother-in-law. This forum is incredibly helpful - could spend hours on here. Thanks for providing so much good information, Doug, and all!  I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but I found another great resource for low-carb recipes and inspiration... www.stellastyle.com. Another amazing story of transformation when changing to a low-carb diet.  Blessings! :)

Hi, I'm pretty new to FTS and the site, but  haven't found any posts on this. A lot of folks mention SF jello... But does anyone know of a 'jello' product that doesn't use aspartame?  Thanks!  Kathy
