General Discussion / I am losing weight!
« on: May 22, 2013, 05:58:58 PM »
I started Sunday and have eaten out three days and am thrilled to say that I have lost 4 pounds so far this week.  It is nice to know that I am not limited to just preparing meals at home.  I ordered one of my favorite meals...chicken fajitas, without the tortillas and rice and thought it was just as good.  I have also been wraping the contents of double cheeseburgers in la tortillas.  I can already notice that my daily cravings for sugar and carb laden foods have left me.  I like being in control of my health for a change and look forward to getting down to a healthier size.  Sad to say that I have over 100 pounds to lose...but with FTS I know that I can do it...especially if I don't give up on myself.  Greatfull for this site and such a wonderful book.   :)

General Discussion / Re: Chicken tenders

Thanks TooSweet and Doug.  I did watch my carbs for the day and did not go over and worked out for 45 min and drank alot of water. I weighed the same this morning as I did yesterday morning.  I will definately try the recipe next time I want chicken tenders.  Thanks for clearing up about the 20 carbs a day.  I have always thought that I had 5 grams a day besides that for sugar.  From now on I will count it all in a daily 20 carb count.  I really do appreciate the advise.  I will make wiser choices from now on.

General Discussion / Chicken tenders

I do wonder if this is cheating...I went to Hardee's and bought a five piece hand breaded chicken tenders for a late lunch today.  I noticed on myfitnesspal.com that the carb count on this was 18.  I only ate four of them.  Is it true that you can eat whatever you want as long as you keep your carbs at 20 or less and sugars at 5 or less.  I do not intend to do this very often.  I also noticed that a five piece chicken tenders at Zaxbys is only 12 carbs.  I guess I will find out in the morning when I get on the scale.

Do you know how to copy and paste.  Maybe that is the problem.

Thank you Umpa...it doesn't seem like a job...it is so simple...no counting points.  I do need to lay off the coffee and drink more water.

Lunch Recipes / Tuna Melt
« on: January 10, 2013, 03:34:50 PM »
This is one of my favorites.  I take a 5oz. can of Albacore tuna and a tablespoon of dukes mayo and a teaspoon of sugar-free relish and mix in a bowl with some Mrs. Dash garlic and herb...be sure to drain the tuna before mixing.  I then take a Joseph's pita and seperate it into two circles, layer one circle with the tuna salad and a slice of Kraft deli cheese and put on the top circle of the pita.  I use a grill press and toast until crispy and the cheese melts.  This is really good and easy to make.

You are doing great and probably have lost even more.  The best time to weigh yourself is in the morning after you use the bathroom and before you eat.  It is exciting to watch the positive changes that FTS can bring.  Keep up the good work!

My first week and I have lost 8 pounds.  To celebrate I made a chocolate one minute muffin.  I am anxious to see how well I do in the weeks to come.  My clothes are fitting looser.  For those of you that haven't started yet I challenge you to do so .  Let this be the year that we overcome our addiction to sugar and carbs.

I have one of those redi set go cookers, maybe you have seen the infomertial.  I spray it with olive oil, put in my piece of tilapia and season with Mcormick Garlic and herb salt free seasoning and set the timer for seven minutes.  I really enjoy this with cauli mash.

Welcome Rebeccah!  Read the book and make sure that you have a supply of FTS friendly foods.  Some people have a hard time with detox the first couple of weeks.  I am lucky because it doesn't give me any difficulty.  I have been in detox for 4 days now and most likely am already in ketosis.  That is when you start to burn the fat.  Be sure to drink plenty of water.  You will love the food.  Just pay attention to when your body is truely hungry.  You can do this! ;D
