General Questions / Re: Will power vs. Family
« on: June 04, 2011, 05:02:52 PM »
I just cook normal meals for my family but instead of potatoes I make myself cauli mash or jicama fries.  I didn't get rid of any of the staples in my house.  You can do this and once your husband sees how much you are enjoying the healthy food you are eating he will be more likely to give it a try.  After the first week the breads, cookies, etc will not be as appealing to you.  Good luck and welcome to the FTS family. ;)

Welcome to the FTS family.  Detox is different for everyone, even though I loved sweets (cookies) I didn't have too much trouble.  Today was the first time in 3 months that I had a cookie (Beanit Butter).  I can't believe I have completely stayed away from those kinds of things.  Once you make your mind up to do something anything is possible.  The advice I would give you as a newbie is drink plenty of water and don't be afraid to ask questions.  Good luck.  ;)

There was never a doubt in my mind that you wouldn't lose the weight you put on at WDW quickly.  You are very determined.  Keep it up and you will reach your goal in no time.  Great job Rena! ;)

I make mine without any butter and just use an egg white.  They are still moist.  I add xylitol, cinnamon, and some vanilla extract.  They are quite good and I find they help if I need a quick sweet fix.  ;)

On Easter I made cauli mash then added sour cream, cream cheese, bacon and chives and put it in the oven for awhile.  It was GREAT!!!!!

I just wrap mine tightly in saran wrap and put it in the frig, it seems to do just fine.

Might I suggest figuring out the ounces or number of nuts you can eat in a serving and putting them in a snack size baggie.  That way you can control the amount you eat and you can grab them on the go. ;)

My daughter made Easter dinner this year I had ham, asparagus, tossed green salad, cauli mash with cream cheese, bacon, and chives.  She made several pies but I will have lemon cheesecake with a dab of 50 fifty strawberry jam.  What a wonderful  meal, I didn't feel deprived at all ;D ;D ;D
