So, the flax muffins are 0 carbs? What about almond? About 3 or 4?

Made one with almond -- it was great, but the calories are still a bit high. I'll have to try the flax next time, since that's about 100 calories less, if I remember right.

We don't get overly concerned with the calories, at least I don't, on FTS.

They are not 0.  Eggs, baking powder and cinnamon all have carbs.

I know it's tough, with the life-long programming we've been subjected to about calories and how they make you fat, to not count and/or consider calories.

Just remember... Net carb restriction =<20 per day along with portion control, will bring about weight loss.

I don't either, and maybe I should say 'portion control' rather than calories, since that seems to be taken the wrong way here. For ME, the fact is, if I eat too much of anything, even if I have 0 carbs, I won't lose weight. That's just how it works for both me and my husband. FTS is working for us, so I honestly believe it's a combination of the two.

BTW, I made the muffin mix as pancakes and those were awesome. I could eat those rather than have to pay for expensive low-carb pancake mix. Thanks for the suggestion and recipe.

Glad you liked the pancakes.  I think that is my favourite recipe.  It always seems like a treat when I eat them.

That is exactly right and how F2S works for us all, Rena!  :)

Limiting carbs AND portion control are part of the F2S lifestyle.
Within reason, calories are not a consideration.

If we eat too many carbs, we will get fatter.
If we eat more than we need or when we're not hungry, we will get fatter.

Too much of anything (even something good) is not good for anyone.

I suggest that you reread Doug's book.
I have read it many times. And each time, something new jumps out at me.
What you do today is what matters!

Can these be made more in bulk in the oven?  Has anyone tried?  If so what measurements, temp & time?

Thanks!

There are many bread recipes on this book and in the Bakery book that can easily be made into muffins. I know you can do that and freeze them. I personally like the OMM because I'm the only one who eats them and they're super easy and quick to make -- not to mention you can do so much with them.

But definitely look around -- I know Izzet's bread is baked in the oven, as are most of the others.

Hi therevolvingdiet

Joagain has a great cornbread recipe that is pretty much the one minute muffin cooked in the oven you can find her post here: http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=1302.msg11350#msg11350

Also Izzet has a great bread for the oven and you can find it here: http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=1341.30

Other than that you can do a search from the home page or go to the section labled Breads and Crackers  Also there are Doug and Umpa's bakery books ;)

I've had a unpredictable microwave before  ;)  I hope this helps.....
